Real Friendship
Real Friendship Monday, May 23, 2011 (Formatted for Twitter) TLC, Biz Markie, Dionne Warwick… so many artists have made songs about friendship. #MondayMotivation I’ve heard people say, “I don’t need friends. I’m okay by myself.” Sadly, they are the unhappiest people I know. #MondayMotivation Generally, those who don’t want friends had bad friends who helped form that opinion: Takers, users, haters and the like. #MondayMotivation The saddest friend I’ve had wasn’t someone who gave me bad advice or didn’t listen. She was selfish. #MondayMotivation If I allowed that bad friend to form my opinion of friendship, I would be missing out on a great life with real friends. #MondayMotivation Your friends have great influence in your life. Real friends influence you in the right direction. #MondayMotivation Having real friends can help you to live a great life instead of a mediocre life. #MondayMotivation Having the wrong friends will corrupt you. “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Cor 15:33) #MondayMotivation Real friends have your best interest at heart. “A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down.” #MondayMotivation Real friends aren’t just people that you hang out with; they are people that you should hang on to. #MondayMotivation Real friends push you to be better, not with only their words, but also by their example. #MondayMotivation Want real friends? You must first be a real friend to yourself (by loving yourself). When you love you, others will too. #MondayMotivation Real friendships are founded in love. They should never be about what one can get, but about what one gives. #MondayMotivation Today, I encourage you to cherish your friends and to become a real friend! Your life will be better as a result. #MondayMotivation Here’s a great resource for friendship by George Davis called the 10 Commandments of Friendship http://bit.ly/mJgVZF #MondayMotivation Thank you for reading #MondayMotivation today. Jesus is the best friend ever!!!
Take the Limits Off
Take the Limits Off * Monday, May 16, 2011 (Note: #MondayMotivation was originally written and formatted for Twitter.) MondayMotivation is starting at http://twitter.com/AminaCameron. Today’s title: Take the Limits Off Have you ever felt like there is something holding you back from accomplishing your dreams? #MondayMotivation Is your life like that parabola in Calculus, it’s always approaching a limit, but never can get past it or even to it? #MondayMotivation If you’ve answered yes to one or both of those questions, then it’s time for you to take the limits off. #MondayMotivation Maybe you’ve never seen anyone accomplish what you want to do. Don’t let that stop you; take the limits off! #MondayMotivation Perhaps you don’t think you have what it takes. Guess what? You have what it takes; you just have to take the limits off! #MondayMotivation Many of us have goals & dreams that God has placed in us, but don’t know how to make them a reality. Take the limits off! #MondayMotivation Often times, what limits us is ignorance…not knowing what to do to get where we want to be. Take the limits off! #MondayMotivation Fight ignorance with knowledge. Each day, take steps to take the limits off by acquiring knowledge about your goals. #MondayMotivation When you take the limits off, you will find that you will be able to accomplish even more than your role models. #MondayMotivation When an apprentice submits to the selfless teaching of a master, then the apprentice will also become great! #MondayMotivation “He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do” Jesus/John 14:12 #MondayMotivation Listen to Jesus; He can’t lie! He said that for those who believe Him, they would do the same and even more! #MondayMotivation Who’s your master? When fear or doubt is your master, you are the parabola that’s approaching zero. Take the limits off! #MondayMotivation Believe God! Believe in yourself! Then go to the next level by getting knowledge. Take the limits off! #MondayMotivation “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6) Don’t be destroyed because you are living with limits. #MondayMotivation Get the knowledge you need to take the limits off. Seek God regarding your next steps (school, apprenticeship, etc.) #MondayMotivation We have information at our fingertips. Don’t let fear make you lazy; go get the information you need. Take the limits off! #MondayMotivation If you need to know “What to Do With a God Idea” read this free eBook from @andrebutler, my pastor: http://ow.ly/4UONh #MondayMotivation God’s love is unlimited. The resources are unlimited. It’s up to you to take the limits off of your thinking! #MondayMotivation God believes the dream in your heart can happen; otherwise, He wouldn’t have placed it there. You must believe then act! #MondayMotivation I hope today’s #MondayMotivation has inspired you to take steps to live life limit-free! Have a great week! Don’t Put It Off
Remember this clock when you are tempted to put things off. MONDAY MOTIVATION: Don’t Put It Off Monday, May 9, 2011 It has been said, “Procrastination is the thief of time.” I would add to that ambition, focus, & success. Don’t procrastinate! #MondayMotivation “You may delay, but time will not.” (Ben Franklin) Don’t waste your life by procrastinating. #MondayMotivation Procrastinate: to intentionally or habitually put off the doing of something that should be done. #MondayMotivation Procrastination begets missed opportunity. It’s impossible to walk through an open door when you don’t take any steps. #MondayMotivation “Putting off an easy thing makes it hard. Putting off a hard thing makes it impossible.” (G Lorimer) Don’t procrastinate! #MondayMotivation Life happens in order. “In order” means that to get to the next level, the previous level must be successfully completed. #MondayMotivation Example: In order to reach 2nd grade, 1st grade must be passed. In order to get the finals, you have to win the semi’s. #MondayMotivation Each moment is a set up for the next. When you waste time, you are setting yourself up for failure. Don’t procrastinate. #MondayMotivation As the definition indicated, for some, procrastination is a habit. If that’s you, here are some tips that helped me… #MondayMotivation Tip 1: Give yourself a deadline & hold yourself to it. “A decision without a deadline is meaningless.” @andrebutler #MondayMotivation “What may be done at any time will be done at no time.” Don’t procrastinate! #MondayMotivation Tip 2: Make a realistic schedule & stick with it. When you write it, you can run with it! (See Habakkuk 2:2) #MondayMotivation There’s something about writing things down that makes them binding. You can remember & reference what you write. #MondayMotivation Tip 3: Evaluate & Eliminate. Take the time to evaluate your day or week and eliminate any time wasters. #MondayMotivation You should start your evaluation time with prayer. If you’re open, God will help you to identify time wasters! #MondayMotivation “For every minute spent in organizing, an hour is earned.” You are not wasting time when you evaluate! #MondayMotivation Don’t worry! If you are a habitual procrastinator, you can change! Start today by taking action. Don’t put it off! #MondayMotivation As you effectively maximize your moments, you will find that more opportunities will be available to you. I dare you to do it! #MondayMotivation Thank you for reading #MondayMotivation today! I hope you have a productive, procrastination free week!
